I write a lot about Hampden’s but what about Long Pond? There are way less Long Pond bottlings comparatively and honestly I never get blown by them except some like this Cadenhead’s.

Barbados, 1986, hmmm, what are you thinking about? We can read West Indies Rum Refinery on that colourful label and that’s the reason why I picked that sample today! I’ll review some W.I.R.D in the next weeks and I consider this one as a warm-up.

Two months ago I discovered and enjoyed the new Rum Artesanal bottlings including this very nice W.I.R.D from 1986. The least we can say is that they’re not sleeping!

I didn’t even notice there were no 2000 Hampdens on the blog yet! I must say that’s not my favorite vintage, but let’s give those a try! Typically all Hampden releases from 2000 wear the LROK mark.

The Nectar of the Daily drams Le Galion 2021 (59%)
This bottling is more recent than the two previous, it recently made a lot of noise. Bottled by the Belgian IB The Nectar of the Daily drams, that’s the first of its kind! A 6 months old traditional Grand Ârome rum from Le Galion distillery in Martinique, aged in an ex-PX/ex-DOK cask, what a crazy combo!
