Today we gonna end the Daily Dram 15th Anniversary bottlings set with those two old drams and I hope that we will find some really good stuff!
Tormore 32yo 1988-2021 (45.9%, Daily Dram)

Colour: White wine with golden hues.
Nose: No alcohol presence. A lot of ripe fruits but also some acidic notes with passion fruits, pineapples, tropical fruits jam, ripe mangoes, waxy notes and even a subtle wood smoke in the background. Very nice!
Mouth: The alcohol integration is perfect and th texture is oily. It’w powerful and full of fruits one more time with tropical fruits, white and yellow peaches, passion fruits, pineapples, guavas, mangoes, un-ripe bananas. The end of mouth is more oriented towards some woody and waxy notes notes adding some austerity and dryness to this mix.
Finish: Long. Noble wood, dusty books, cardboard, raw leather, some remnants of tropical fruit notes, wood dryness with the whole mix wrapped in some wax!
A very interesting and enjoyable Tormore with a quite typical profile. Those Tormore from around the 90’s seems to often be a good bet!
Score: 90
Balblair 31yo 1989-2021 (48.2%, Daily Dram)

Colour: Deep gold with copper hues.
Nose: No alcohol presence. Here we have a burst of tropical fruits with bananas, mangoes, pineapples, melons, passion fruits, watermelons and that’s pretty much it except some subtle waxy and mineral notes on the background.
Mouth: The alcohol integration is good and the texture is very oily. The mouth is starting with the exact same burst of tropical fruits and hints of waxy and mineral notes. Then it’s directly followed by a lot of minerality, chalk, clay, oak wood, candle wax and some noble wood adding dryness to the mix. Finally the tropical fruits comes back in a more calm way, mixed up with spices, white pepper, mineral notes and hints of ginger freshness.
Finish: Long. A lot of mineral notes, chalk, noble wood, woody dryness, waxy notes, nuts and some tropical fruits and honey in the background.
This old fruity Balblair was very good, I have to say that I was expecting a bit more from this one but hey, it’s already very good!
Score: 90
It was two very nice old bottlings but it was not enough to be on par with my favorite of this set in my opinion, the Ardmore 31yo. Overall it was a very nice selection and congrats for the 15th Anniversary and this selection!
